Did China proved its value to the world ceramic industry?

What was seen during The 35th CERAMBATH shouldn't be taken lightly, unfortunately most foreigners are not aware and many of the domestic manufacturers or people in general of the industry do not seem to notice.
在第35屆陶博會期間所見的一切不應該被輕視,不幸的是,大多數外國人并沒有意識到,許多國內制造商或業內人士似乎也沒有注意到。
I mentioned in the last article about the revolution of the Chinese Ceramic Industry and the Big Slab “YanBan” as the epicenter of the pandemic of manufacturing these types of sintered stone items and stop importing them so much to the domestic market.

But most importantly I want to talk about something more, that to me is extremely important and worth mentioning, something like I said people don’t seem to see.

About two to three months ago before the fair and my trip back to USA I was thinking about the industry in general and all the different brands asking myself on how and what they would do if no trip to Bologna and CERSAIE was done. How in the world would they know about the proposals of the top brands of the Italian Industry which are all the time the leading trend setters of the world? Besides as you also know there would be no trips to the different design firms that you usually tour while you are in Italy during the fair and see on a more summarized way the products, designs, colors and sizes that they are proposing to the different top brands of Italy and the rest world.

I was curious then on what the brands would do to present something new in the domestic market and from China to the world during CERAMBATH even though there would be no foreigners at all, which by the way also was not a big problem either because the brands are working actively on western social media promoting their brands and new products.
我感到好奇,在陶博會期間,品牌們會做些什么去展示一些新的東西,向國內市場和從中國到世界,即使根本沒有外國人,這也不是什么大問題,因為品牌們正積極地在西方社交媒體上推廣他們的品牌和新產品。
What we saw during the fair wasn’t surprising at least to me but let me explain why. I knew the brands were going to do something interesting knowing the fact that many of them were making already Slabs, Yanban, sintered stone. The big surprise was that they did it a lot better than expected. I knew it was going to be good but not this much. It was impressive, very impressive!

Not only because of the quantity of “Yanban” seen but of the quality of the designs, colors and sizes which by the way many were kind of odd because they are more suitable for the furniture industry.

On top of that not related to the big size but sizes like 60x120, 75x150 and so on, which was like I said maybe not many were paying attention to them, the designs were nice and what was more interesting was that the different finishes were really good. Not only the typical polished were seen but many matte, sugar, semi-polished and matte polished that look and felt like they were extremely well manufactured!

To end a few brands made adjustments or completely new showrooms, the ones were able to be seen and toured were very impressive and extremely well done.

Was I surprised that all this was going to be good? NO

Was I surprised that it was much better than I expected? YES

The real questions here are the following? Did any of you noticed about how good everything was? Did you see how well many of the showrooms were finished? Did you see how many great finishes were presented by many of the brands? Did you notice how great many of the designs were?
這里真正的問題是:你們有人注意到一切都很好嗎?你看到很多展廳完成得有多出色嗎?你看到許多品牌都推出了許多優秀的質面嗎?你注意到有多少很棒的設計嗎?
How can you explain how good everything was without being able to go to Bologna? Is necessity the mother of innovation and creativity like they said or what?

I predicted not too long ago that China was going to become a reference. What I meant with that was related to product and showroom design, and not low cost production or efficiency like most people know China or relate China with.

My prediction was accurate and I have been able to see it with my own eyes for the past couple of years. I have seen incredible ceramic and building material malls with the most unbelievable showrooms in cities you wouldn’t in your dreams think of going or guessing that they had the best malls in the world.

China was already closing the gap with Italy and Spain, It felt for a while that India was moving faster than China but only on the big slab, but no more. By the end of next year China will be closer than ever to the top manufacturers of the world and if the different top companies keep paying attention to the details and to quality more than cost, in no time the domestic industry will be in line with Italy in many ways.
中國已經在縮小與意大利和西班牙的差距。有一段時間,感覺印度的發展速度比中國快,但只是在大板上,而且已經不再有。到明年年底,中國將比以往任何時候都更接近世界的頂級制造商,如果不同的頂級企業繼續注重細節,注重質量而不是成本,那么國內工業將很快在許多方面與意大利接軌。
China proved to the world that is ready to do it and has not the dependency it had before from Italy regarding design, trends and so on. It can create its own proposals and the proof was done at the 35th CERAMBATH.
中國向世界證明了自己已經做好了準備,在設計、潮流等方面不再像以前那樣依賴意大利。它可以創建自己的方案,并在第35屆陶博會完成了證明。
